Kelly McKee has over 40 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Kelly began their career in 1981 as a Chief of the Medical Operations Division at the US Army's USAMRIID. From there, they held multiple basic and applied science and clinical research positions at USAMRIID. In 2001, they became the Head of the General Communicable Disease Control Branch at the North Carolina Division of Public Health. That same year, they also became the Managing Research Physician at Camber Corporation. In 2004, they were appointed as the Senior Director of Clinical Research at DynPort Vaccine Company LLC. From 2006 to 2017, they held various medical and technical positions at QuintilesIMS, culminating in the role of Vice President and Managing Director of Public Health and Government Services. In 2017, they began working as an Independent Consultant at KTM BioPartners LLC and a Consultant and Senior Medical Advisor at Pharm-Olam, LLC. Kelly also held the role of Consultant Chief Medical Officer at BravoVax Co., Ltd. from 2017 to 2018. In 2022, they were appointed as the Chief Medical Officer at GeoVax Labs, Inc. Throughout their career, Kelly has provided strategic guidance and direction for vaccine and oncology clinical research and development programs, overseen clinical operational activities, and drafted and/or reviewed clinical development plans.

Kelly McKee completed their undergraduate degree at Davidson College from 1968 to 1972, earning a BS in Pre-Med. Kelly then attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine from 1972 to 1976, graduating with an MD in Medicine. In 1985 and 1986, they attended Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health, earning an MPH in Public Health.
