Jay Hamilton

Jay Hamilton has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. Jay began their career at MetLife in 2003 as a Systems Management Engineer, where they focused on implementing effective systems monitoring solutions while ensuring compliance with privacy laws. Jay then transitioned to the role of Groups Contracts Development Consultant, where they were responsible for drafting and issuing group insurance contracts and ensuring compliance with federal health care statutes. In 2017, they became a Senior Controls Consultant at MetLife, providing regulatory oversight and guidance for the drafting and issuance of supplemental health insurance product forms. Jay also managed disputes related to group insurance products and negotiated resolutions with regulators. In 2022, Jay Hamilton joined Gerber Life Insurance Company as a Compliance Manager - Privacy & Information Security Governance, where they provide legal advice and guidance on data privacy and artificial intelligence laws.

Jay Hamilton completed their education by earning a degree in Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a specialization in Transactional Lawyering from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Columbia University, where they studied from 2003 to 2007.

In addition to their formal education, Jay Hamilton has also obtained several certifications. Jay became a Certified In Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA in March 2022. Jay achieved the Certified Bitcoin Professional certification from the Blockchain Council in January 2022. Jay also obtained The Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) designation from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in February 2020. Furthermore, Jay Hamilton is licensed as an Attorney by the New Jersey State Bar Association, a certification they obtained in August 2018.
