Heba Ali is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), focusing on the role of Extracellular Vesicles in depression circuits in mice and exploring their potential therapeutic applications. Heba completed a doctoral research project at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, investigating the functions of Neuroligin-2 in fear learning and anxiety under the supervision of Prof. Nils Brose. Prior experience includes a research project on glia-mediated immune responses and the neuronal transcriptome at DZNE, a laboratory assistant role at Damascus University Hospital, and work as a pharmacist assistant. Heba holds a Dr. rer. nat in Neuroscience from the University of Göttingen, along with two Master’s degrees in Neuroscience from the same institution and Université de Bordeaux, and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Tishreen University.
