Josephine Blersch

Josephine Blersch, PhD, currently serves as a Screening & Data Scientist at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) since November 2019, where responsibilities include the development of an automated cell-based immunotoxicity assay for nanomaterials and nano-particulate vaccines and adjuvants, along with the coordination of compound screening and analysis. Prior experience includes a role as a Researcher at CNC UC from September 2012 to March 2019, focused on high-throughput RNAi screening for light-triggerable nanocarrier libraries, demonstrating superior transfection efficiency in RNA delivery and enhancing wound healing in mouse models. Additional positions entail a Marie Curie Fellowship specializing in nanoparticle screening and a visiting researcher role at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck, where big data analysis of imaging data was conducted. Josephine's academic credentials include a PhD in Cell Biology and Biomedicine from Universidade de Coimbra and a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Biology from Ulm University.
