Karin Danzer is a distinguished researcher in the field of neuroscience, currently serving as a Research Group Leader (W3 Professor) at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) since June 2021. Previously, Karin held the position of Emmy Noether Research Group Leader at Universitätsklinikum Ulm since November 2016, and served as an Assistant Professor at Ulm University from October 2011 to May 2021. Karin's academic journey includes a role as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School from September 2008 to July 2011, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Boehringer Ingelheim from May 2007 to July 2008. Karin Danzer obtained a Dr. rer.nat. in Neuroscience from Ulm University in collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH and Co.KG, and earned a Diplom in Molecular Biology from Ulm University. Earlier education includes Vordiplom in Biology from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.
