Richard Mantey

Richard Mantey is a Doctoral Researcher at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) since April 2022, focusing on the role of tandem repeat variations as genetic modifiers of neurodegeneration through bioinformatics and statistical genomics. Prior experience includes serving as an Associate Researcher, where Richard developed a bioinformatics pipeline for identifying pathogenic variants in Parkinson's disease, conducted molecular dynamic simulations, and assisted in isolating neuron-derived extracellular vesicles. Richard has a history as a Senior Biomedical Scientist at Ghana Health Service, a Technical Manager/Biomedical Scientist at New Crystal Health Services Limited, and held various positions in internships at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Richard holds an M.Sc. in Biomedical Science from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, an MPhil in Clinical Immunology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Cape Coast.
