Gemma Smith

Gemma Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in environmental health and safety (EHS) within the renewable energy sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Field Operations and Vice President of SHE Risk & Compliance at Geronimo Power, formerly National Grid Renewables, since April 2018, Gemma has a proven track record in managing and leading EHS programs for wind and solar projects across North and South America. Prior roles include Senior Manager of EHS and Training at Pattern Energy Group, where responsibilities encompassed developing and implementing robust EHS initiatives, conducting audits, and coordinating emergency response drills. Additionally, Gemma has experience as a Consultant at Det Norske Veritas, focusing on HSE management systems and training for the wind energy sector, and an early engineering internship at BNSF Railway. Gemma holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University and further education from The University of Texas at Dallas.
