Esther Karugia

Esther Karugia is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in risk management and compliance, currently serving as the Head of Internal Audit Risk and Compliance at Gertrude's Children's Hospital since February 2017. In this role, Esther oversees the planning, execution, and reporting of various audits while advising the management and Board of Trustees on internal controls and risk management techniques. Prior to this, Esther held the position of Shared Services Manager at the same hospital, managing various projects and departments, including technical maintenance and facility management. Esther also has a background in procurement, having served as Procurement Manager from May 2012 to January 2017, where the establishment of a fully functional procurement department was a key achievement. Esther holds a Post Graduate degree in Corporate Management and a Bachelor of Commerce with a Finance option from KCA University.
