Ilka Petermann is a Research Fellow at Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit gGmbH, specializing in environmental radiation protection and emergency preparedness since February 2019. Previously, Ilka served as an Assistant Research Scientist at Arizona State University from September 2015 to August 2018, focusing on theoretical astrophysics and the evolution of massive stars. Prior postdoctoral research positions include tenures at the University of Liège, the University of Bonn, and the University of Malaya. Ilka holds a PhD in Physics from Technische Universität Darmstadt, where studies were completed from 2007 to 2011, and a Diploma in Physics from the same university, earned between 2001 and 2006.
