Isaac Kato is currently an observer on the board at Edify. Isaac has also served as president of Mighty AI and as co-founder, chief financial officer, and EVP at Verne Global.
Kato conceived, wrote the business plan, hired the CEO and CTO, and seeded the innovative green data center business in Iceland that became Verne Global. Isaac provided seed capital and subsequently raised $200M+ of debt and equity capital for the company, including the $98M Series D, one of the 20 largest tech financings in Europe in 2015.
Kato was one of the three C-level executives at Verne who directed the business from inception, managing all aspects of strategy formation, team building, and execution from startup through growth stage. Isaac opened and built Verne’s London office and was responsible for fundraising, finance and accounting, analytics, strategy, sales operations, pricing and capacity management, business development, legal affairs, and government affairs.
Kato identified and led the company to enter the market segment which represents the largest share of Verne’s revenue today. Isaac also led the company through the Icelandic financial collapse and subsequent crisis years, resulting in a successful new fundraise and launch of the business. Kato has managed and executed complex negotiations with investors, customers (including VW and other large enterprises), vendors, partners, and government agencies.
