Lawrence Humphrey has a diverse work experience. Lawrence is currently the Founder and CEO of Pearl since February 2022. Previously, they worked at IBM from 2017 to 2022 in various roles. Lawrence was a Consultant and Strategist from April 2020 to September 2022, where they contributed to defining AI design practices. Lawrence also served as the Co-Founder and CEO of Tech Can [Do] Better from June 2020 to April 2022. At Blue Ivory Creative, they were the Lead Web Developer from August 2015 to December 2016. Lawrence gained internship experience as a Software Design Intern at IBM from January 2016 to March 2016. Lawrence also worked as a Web Developer Intern at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of ACES from August 2015 to December 2015. Additionally, Lawrence had stints as a Web Developer and Co-founder at Illicit Design from May 2015 to August 2015 and as a Web Developer at Neutral Design from February 2015 to May 2015. Lawrence started their career as a Network Technician at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Housing from August 2013 to May 2015. Lawrence also gained experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Qualcomm from May 2014 to August 2014.
Lawrence Humphrey completed their education in a chronological manner. Lawrence attended Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School from 2008 to 2012, where they did not receive a specific degree or study in a specific field. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Lawrence obtained two certifications. In July 2019, they completed the "Enterprise Design Thinking - Team Essentials for AI" certification at IBM. In May 2017, they also obtained the "IBM Design Thinking Collaborator" certification from the same institution.
