Dr. Stephan K.H. Simon

Dr. Stephan K.H. Simon has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dr. Stephan K.H. is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Pliant, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Advisor & Investor at Immutable Insight from November 2021 to May 2023. Additionally, they held the role of CFO at Immutable Insight from November 2021 to May 2023. Dr. Simon has also worked at Easyblue and Tindeco Financial Services as a Senior Advisor & Investor. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as the Head of Funding Strategy & Deposit Analytics at Raisin DS. Before that, they were a Principal, Finance & Risk at Oliver Wyman from 2010 to 2019, where they led various strategic development and transformation projects for top financial institutions. Prior to their time at Oliver Wyman, Dr. Simon worked at McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager, Financial Institutions, and as a Fellow/Associate. Dr. Stephan K.H. also served as a Doctoral Researcher at Catholic University Eichstaett.

Dr. Stephan K.H. Simon has a strong educational background in finance, business administration, and economics. Their academic journey began at Klenze Gymnasium in Munich, where they completed their Abitur in Maths & Physics from 1985 to 1994. Dr. Stephan K.H. then pursued their undergraduate studies at Universität Passau, earning a Diplomkaufmann in Business Administration and Economics from 1995 to 2000.

During their undergraduate years, Dr. Simon also had the opportunity to study abroad at Lund University in 1997 and 1998. There, they obtained a Master of Science degree with a specialization in Finance.

Displaying a continued passion for their field, Dr. Simon went on to pursue a PhD in Finance and Banking at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Dr. Stephan K.H. successfully completed their doctoral studies from 2003 to 2006, earning the title of Dr. rer. pol. (PhD).

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Simon holds a certification as an Alpine Ski Instructor and Freeride Guide from IVSI & DSV, which they obtained in 1993.
