Software Engineering Manager at Weave

Brendan Ashton's work experience begins with their current role as a Software Engineering Manager at Weave since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Weave as a Senior Software Engineer starting in August 2020.

Before joining Weave, Brendan worked at BioFire Diagnostics, LLC for six years. Their roles at BioFire included being a Software Test Manager (Technical Lead) from April 2019 to August 2020, a Software Test Engineer II from April 2015 to April 2019, and a Software Test Engineer from May 2014 to April 2015. In their role as a Software Test Engineer, Brendan designed test strategies for web and Windows desktop applications, documented software defects, and planned test schedules.

Before their time at BioFire Diagnostics, Brendan worked at Brigham Young University. Brendan held the position of Tissue Engineering Research Assistant from April 2013 to December 2013, where they co-developed a novel cell adhesion assay and collaborated on an award-winning decellularization technique. Brendan also worked as a Computational Biology Research Assistant from July 2011 to December 2013, where they used scripting to generate and submit molecular dynamics simulations and analyzed large datasets. Additionally, Brendan briefly worked as a Technical Support Agent at Brigham Young University from June 2012 to October 2012.

Brendan's earliest work experience was at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Brendan worked as a GSC Technical Support Agent from June 2010 to January 2011, providing worldwide technical support. Prior to this, they served as a Missionary Teacher and Trainer from November 2009 to June 2010.

Brendan Ashton obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biophysics from Brigham Young University, which they attended from 2009 to 2013. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the University of Utah from 2015 to 2018. During this time, they earned a Professional Master of Science and Technology degree with a focus on Computational and Data Science, specifically in the Statistics field.
