Sebastian Sastre

Sebastian Sastre has extensive experience in the field of VoIP engineering and development. Sebastian currently holds the position of Principal VoIP Engineer at Weave, where they have been working since 2019. In their role, they are responsible for managing multiple teams of managers to support the company's VoIP operations and infrastructure. Sebastian has also led the migration of resources from AWS to GCP, improving connectivity, quality, and availability for customers. Prior to this, Sebastian served as the VoIP Engineering Manager at Weave, where they implemented a highly scalable nationwide VoIP network, handling half a million VoIP phones and complex UCaaS features using GCP's global load balancing services. Before joining Weave, they worked as a Senior VoIP Engineer at Great HealthWorks, where they played a crucial role in scaling the company's VoIP network to accommodate rapid growth. Sebastian was responsible for creating a scalable, distributed in-memory presence system and implemented dynamic LCR routing using Kamailio. Sebastian also has experience working at IPCom as a VoIP Developer, where they deployed several SIP Proxies and developed an automated dialing system. Sebastian founded Brainiac Ideas, LLC, a consulting company that specialized in web application development for VoIP networks. Sebastian also worked at Next Communications as a NOC Engineer, where they designed and managed the company's voice prepaid telephony network. Sebastian Sastre completed their Associate in Arts degree in Computer Science at Miami Dade College from 2001 to 2005.
