Henrik I. Petersen

Henrik I. Petersen is a distinguished geochemist with extensive experience in petroleum geochemistry and organic geochemistry, currently serving as a Professor and Senior Researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) since January 2021. Prior roles include Senior Specialist at Total Upstream Danmark A/S and Lead Petroleum Geochemist at Maersk Oil, where Henrik managed geochemical data analysis and integrated petroleum geochemistry with geological models across various regions. Throughout a career beginning at GEUS in 1991, Henrik has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, led laboratory operations, and contributed significantly to CCS projects and the characterization of hydrocarbon reservoirs, underpinned by solid academic credentials including a D.Sc. from the University of Copenhagen.
