Juhani Harkonen

Juhani Harkonen is an experienced professional in sustainable natural resources management, with a robust background in project development, implementation, and evaluation. Currently serving as the CTA/Team Leader for the FP VI - Protection of Mangrove Forests at GFA Consulting Group GmbH since November 2022, Juhani has held various leadership roles, including Project Director at FCG International Ltd from June 2010 to October 2022, where responsibilities spanned business management, government liaison, and impact assessment across multiple international development projects. Key positions include Director/Chief Technical Adviser for the Energy and Environment Partnership with Indonesia, Chief Technical Advisor for the Forestry and Value Chains Development Programme in Tanzania, and involvement in governance and forestry management initiatives in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Finland. Juhani holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economy and Forest Management Planning from the University of Joensuu, Finland.
