Mike Durand

Throughout his career of more than 20 years, Mike has demonstrated a passion for uncovering new efficiencies in project delivery that generate value for his clients. A committed advocate of lean design and construction principles, Mike applies the latest industry best practices to deliver projects that are not only on schedule and on budget, but also meet the demands of the ever-changing healthcare sector. As a vice president, he is responsible for principal oversight of Ghafari’s healthcare projects, client relationship management, and business development.

Mike has managed a variety of healthcare projects, from hospital master planning and expansions to mission-critical utility upgrades, with a client roster that includes Beaumont Health System, Detroit Medical Center, Henry Ford Health System, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He has also led numerous industrial-sector projects for clients such as GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, and Nissan.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Lawrence Technological University. He is affiliated with the Engineering Society of Detroit and a past winner of Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s “40 Under 40” award.
