Douglas Gatrell

Douglas Gatrell is an experienced engineer specializing in the solid waste industry, with a career spanning multiple decades. Currently serving as a design engineer at GHD since January 2005, Gatrell focuses on projects related to waste-to-energy systems, landfill gas collection and utilization, and construction quality assurance. Prior to this role, Gatrell worked as a Senior Project Engineer/Manager at Shaw - EMCON from August 1998 to November 2004, leading solid waste projects throughout the western United States and managing a landfill gas design service group. Gatrell's earlier experience includes serving as a project engineer at GHD (formerly CRA) from November 1993 to May 1998, where responsibilities included sampling, design, construction oversight, and project coordination for various remediation and solid waste initiatives. Gatrell holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University, earned between 1991 and 1993.
