Melissa Burns

Melissa Burns, P.E. has an extensive background in civil and marine engineering, currently serving as the Maritime & Coastal Service Line Leader for GHD since June 2017. In this role, Melissa provides technical leadership to enhance the capabilities of staff across the Americas and initiates training and processes to foster a client-centered culture. Prior experience includes positions as a Marine Structural Engineer and GHD Associate, contributing to global engineering services. Before GHD, Melissa worked as a Structures Project Engineer at DRMP, focusing on design and computation of structural elements for various bridge projects, and as a Project Engineer Intern at Wharton Smith, involved in project management tasks for a major wastewater treatment facility. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
