Vinh Nguyen

Senior Controls and Behavior Engineer at Ghost Robotics

Vinh Nguyen has been working in the engineering field since 2014. Vinh began their career at Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd, where they worked as an Automation Engineer. During this time, they gained hands-on experience in programming and control industrial PLC, Step motors, Servo motors, pneumatic valves, touchscreen monitors. Vinh also worked on the design and control of Auto Cutting Gates machine. In 2016, they began working at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a Research Assistant, where their PhD research focused on predictive simulation of human movements augmented by assistive devices. Vinh also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, assisting in teaching labs, advising students on building embedded system projects, and developing tutorials to teach modeling and simulation using OpenSim software. In 2019, they joined Ghost Robotics as a Senior Controls and Behavior Engineer, and later as a Controls and Behavior Engineer.

Vinh Nguyen obtained their Bachelor's degree in Control and Automation (Honor program) from Hanoi University of Science and Technology between 2008 and 2013. Vinh then went on to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they obtained a Master of Science in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering between 2014 and 2016. During this time, they also obtained a Business Foundations Series for Scientists and Engineers certification from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in September 2016. Finally, Vinh Nguyen obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst between 2014 and 2019.
