Loretta Castoro, MBA, currently serves as the Director of Jewelry Verification Services at the Gemological Institute of America since November 2022. Prior to this role, Loretta worked as the Master of Gemology at The RealReal from June 2017 to April 2020 and held the position of Director of Gemstone Acquisition for colored stones at Tiffany & Co. from July 1989 to July 1999. Loretta's educational background includes a Graduate Gemologist degree from the GIA, an FGA qualification from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, an MBA in Business Administration from Western Governors University, Advanced Scientific Gemology from the Swiss Gemmological Institute, a Watch Advisor certification from Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie in 2017, and Comprehensive Jeweler Manufacturing from Studio Jewelers.
