Advisory Board Member at Giant Ventures

Alice Steenland is currently an advisory board member at Giant Ventures. Prior to this, they were the chief sustainability officer at Dassault Systèmes from February 2020 to December 2021. While at Dassault Systèmes, Alice created the #sustainability function and helped make the company a world leader in sustainable product design.

Some of Alice's key achievements during their time at Dassault Systèmes include defining the company's 5-year Sustainability Compass strategy, building a robust Sustainability governance model, publishing groundbreaking thought leadership with Accenture Strategy, getting The Science Based Targets initiative validation for #ghg targets, helping to co-found the EU Green Digital Coalition #EGDC and the Digital with Purpose Movement with the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), launching the global innovation challenge #LEAP4Sustainability, enabling the flagship #LCA solution Sustainable Innovation Intelligence release on the market, defining first reporting methodologies for the FSB Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) & #eutaxonomy, and - last but not least - in recognition of the hard work of all of the teams: announcing the company's entry for the first time into the Dow Jones Sustainability Index #DJSI, at a remarkable 5th place out of 181 companies in the global software and services sector.

Alice is a leading voice in sustainability and has been recognized for their work by numerous organizations. Alice is passionate about using technology to create a more sustainable future and believes that businesses have a responsibility to lead the way in this area.

Alice Steenland's educational career includes an MBA from Yale School of Management in International Finance and Non-profit Management, an Executive Education Course from Harvard Business School in Corporate Social Responsibility, a BA from Stanford University in Human Biology, and a high school diploma from St. John's School.
