Choon Hong Tan

Choon Hong Tan has a diverse and extensive work experience. Currently, they hold the position of Head, Direct Investments Group for Developed and Southeast Asia at GIC since March 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Managing Director at Northstar Group from September 2011 to February 2022. Choon Hong Tan also worked at C S Partners Pte Ltd as the Director (Special Projects) from September 2007 to July 2011, where they assisted ultra high net worth clients in business consulting, family governance issues, and wealth management. Choon Hong held the position of Vice President, Special Investments at GIC from July 2005 to March 2007. Before that, Choon Hong Tan worked as an Associate in Corporate Finance (Singapore) at Deutsche Bank from March 2001 to June 2005.

Choon Hong Tan completed their O Levels degree at Catholic High School from 1987 to 1990. From 1991 to 1992, they pursued their A Levels at Victoria Junior College. Choon Hong then attended the University of Cambridge from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Master's degree in Engineering. In 2006, Tan obtained the CFA designation from the CFA Institute.
