John F. Gagnier

John Gagnier is Chief Operating Officer of the GID Development Group. Mr. Gagnier leads development activities for GID’s New York office, including $2.4 billion of mixed-use projects in Manhattan.

Mr. Gagnier has over 28 years of experience in real estate, covering all facets of development, including planning, design, entitlements, financing, construction, marketing, sales, leasing, operation, and new deal origination. Mr. Gagnier has consistently focused on the development of complex and sophisticated mixed-use projects, working with the industry’s most influential real estate development organizations and design talent on several groundbreaking, trophy properties. He was previously a development executive in Chicago with the Thomas J. Klutznick Company, and in New York City with Related Companies and Silverstein Properties.

Mr. Gagnier has been involved in projects totaling more than 14 million square feet upon full build out and an estimated development value of $7.5 billion. He has worked on many property types, including luxury multifamily, residential condominiums, retail, luxury hotel and resorts, and restaurants. Mr. Gagnier worked on the Time Warner Center, one of New York’s most iconic and complex mixed-use developments, where he focused on the execution of the retail component and the development’s high-profile restaurant collection. He also worked on 730 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago’s premier luxury retail property featuring flagship Tiffany’s and Ralph Lauren stores as well as the first Ralph Lauren restaurant and the first American Girl Place. He was development lead for The Peninsula Hotel Chicago. Mr. Gagnier also worked on the 7 million square foot, $1 billion CityNorth project in Phoenix, AZ, a master-planned, mixed-use urban center, including a super-regional luxury shopping center, condominium and rental residences, hotels, restaurants, parking, roads, public spaces, and infrastructure.

Mr. Gagnier earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
