Sam Ho

Director, Histocompatibility Laboratory at Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network

Sam Ho has extensive experience in the field of laboratory medicine, particularly in the area of organ and tissue donation. Their most recent role is as Laboratory Director at NJ Sharing Network, where they started in June 2022. Prior to this, they held similar Laboratory Director positions at various organizations such as Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, Mid-America Transplant, Center for Organ Recovery and Education, and Gift of Life Michigan. At Gift of Life Michigan, they also served as Chief Laboratory Officer. In addition, Sam has worked as a Consulting Transplant Laboratory Director at Memorial Medical Center. They have also held adjunct faculty positions at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and University of Michigan Medical School. Sam Ho has a strong background in research as well, having worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Michigan Medical School.

Sam Ho holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Studies (Immunology) from Baylor University, which was completed between 2000 and 2006. Additionally, Sam obtained a Master's Degree in Biomedical Studies (Immunology) from Baylor University from 2000 to 2003. Prior to these degrees, Sam earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Baylor University, which was completed between 1997 and 1999. Sam also possesses various certifications in laboratory directorship and immunogenetics, including the Bioanalytical Laboratory Director License from the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners (obtained in 2023), the Clinical Laboratory Director License from the State of Florida Department of Health (obtained in 2022), and certifications from other reputable institutions in the field.
