Jan L. Weinstock

Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel at Gift of Life Donor Program

Jan L. Weinstock, Esq., is a chief administrative officer and general counsel for Gift of Life and its affiliates, Gift of Life Howie’s House and Transplant Foundation. Her work with Gift of Life spans more than 30 years, first as external counsel and then as a member of the executive leadership team. In her role, Ms. Weinstock also serves as executive director of Gift of Life Howie’s House, a first-of-its-kind independent transplant hospitality house that is now 10 years old.

Ms. Weinstock joined Gift of Life in 1999 after serving as a partner at Blank, Rome, Comisky & McCauley LLP in its health law department. A graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Villanova School of Law, Ms. Weinstock was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a woman of distinction (2008) and by Arrive magazine as one of the top women lawyers in the Northeast (2011).

Ms. Weinstock has led numerous philanthropic, volunteer, and advocacy initiatives, but she is particularly proud of her work drafting and lobbying for Act 102 in Pennsylvania. This groundbreaking legislation – which later served as a national model – changed the face of donation and transplantation within the state, allowing individuals the opportunity to register as organ and tissue donors when they obtain or renew their driver’s licenses.
