Naveed Cochinwala

Naveed Cochinwala has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Naveed started their career as a Software Development Consultant at Sun Microsystems (SunSoft), where they worked on the SUN Internet Mail Server. Naveed then joined Portal Software as a Software Development Engineer, where they designed and implemented a Java Framework for the Rating Engine Server. After that, Naveed worked at Desana Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, where they implemented JDBC multiple database connection pools and socket pools in a multi-threaded environment.

Next, they joined Cavium Inc as a Software Developer, where they worked on implementing non-blocking crypto function calls for OpenSSL's crypto functions and major portions of the SSL Security device driver on Linux and BSDi. Following that, Naveed worked at Xsigo Systems, Inc as the Director of Virtualization Software, managing three software development teams and ensuring development schedules and milestones were met.

Naveed then joined Ericsson as a Principal Engineer, leading a software development team and designing and implementing the High Performance Data Path using software-based forwarding and Intel's DPDK. After Ericsson, they worked at Cumulus Networks as a Software Engineer, where they incorporated Cumulus Linux VM in various virtualization platforms and led the CumulusVX project.

Currently, Naveed is working at Gigamon as a Distinguished Engineer, Cloud Architect, and Team Lead. Naveed is leading the Kubernetes/Container Cloud Team and has expertise in Kubernetes pods, deployments, services, and the development and deployment of pods in a Service Mesh environment using Istio and Envoy.

Naveed Cochinwala attended Santa Clara University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an unspecified field of study.
