Matt Jenks

CTO at GigaTECH

Matt Jenks is the Chief Technology Officer at GigaTECH, Inc. As CTO, Matt is responsible for advising on and implementing technology across the company for delivering services and products to our clients in a cost-effective manner.

Matt started his professional career engaged with the US Navy’s software development of weapons stowage & handling and ship-navigation control systems, focusing on GPS navigation over electronic charts. He pivoted to focusing on rapid product development and automated software test and delivery (early CI/CD) for the US Army’s data mining and exploitation tool, Pathfinder. Matt continued to advise the US Army on software build and delivery, services-based architectures and software operations monitoring. Noticing a trend in the Army of process over product, Matt pivoted once more to become a site lead for the Army’s premier Counter IED exploitation system, CIDNE, focusing on product delivery of new features within a worldwide architecture. He moved into a chief architect role, this time, for a government services company, concentrating on the Dept Of Veteran’s Affairs and Healthcare IT. Here he worked to promote and use the developing FHIR standard as well as expand the company’s product delivery capabilities spearheading many continuous delivery activities.

More recently, Matt, served as CTO for a commercial startup. In his role, he was the chief architect of a microservice based cloud platform employing advanced continuous delivery techniques.

Matt is a hands-on CTO who believes in leading the way for his engineering teams while actively engaging them for feedback. He openly welcomes all ideas that lead to more robust architectures and faster product delivery. He fosters a highly communicative working environment with open knowledge sharing to produce excellent products in short time frames.
