Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY

Monica Ortiz MPH serves as the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Gila River Indian Community since April 2021. Previously, Monica held the position of Communicable Disease Investigator at Maricopa County Public Health from June 2016 to April 2021. Additionally, Monica worked in recreation for the City of Chandler, Arizona, from August 2007 to March 2020, focusing on coordinating league activities and promoting city services. Earlier experience includes serving as a Smart Justice Program Service Representative at Maricopa Workforce Connections, where comprehensive support and case management were provided to offenders, alongside roles as an Admissions Representative at EDMC and Slot Shift Supervisor at Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino. Monica Ortiz holds a Master's degree in Public Health from American Public University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Arizona State University.
