Charlie Hoxmeier

Charlie Hoxmeier, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Associate Faculty at Colorado State University, specializing in Fermentation Science and Technology since June 2020. Concurrently, Charlie serves as Vice President and head brewer at Gilded Goat Brewing Company, a role held since October 2016. Prior to these positions, Charlie worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, focusing on metabolomics and pesticide discovery from August 2014 to September 2017. Charlie earned a PhD in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from Colorado State University, where research included developing an animal model for Mycobacterium ulcerans infection and studying the role of Anopheles gambiae in disease transmission. Earlier experience includes database management at the CDC and technical support in arthropod-borne infectious disease research. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from Colorado State University.
