Ananiya Demessie

Ananiya Demessie, Ph.D., is a seasoned scientist with expertise in lipid nanoparticle formulation and advanced characterization. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Gilead Sciences since January 2025, Ananiya previously worked at ReCode Therapeutics as a Scientist I from September 2022 to December 2024. Ananiya holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Magnetic Hyperthermia and Injectable Iron Oxide Nanoparticle Formulation from Oregon State University College of Pharmacy, earned between September 2018 and August 2022. Additionally, Ananiya obtained a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a focus on Medicinal Chemistry and Nanomedicine from Oregon State University College of Pharmacy from 2019 to 2021, as well as a Bachelor of Science in BioResource Research from Oregon State University from 2014 to 2018.
