Katie Spence

Katie Spence is currently a Senior Scientist at Gilead Sciences, having previously served as a Medicinal Chemistry Summer Intern at the same company. From 2018 to 2023, Katie was a Graduate Student Researcher in the Garg Lab at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they specialized in synthesizing unique complexes and studying compounds for potential therapeutic applications. Katie also contributed as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Williams College, working on antibiotic resistance in bacteria. They earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from UCLA and a BA in Chemistry and Psychology from Williams College.
