Senior Director, Partnerships at Girl Effect

Lorna Qesteri, Phd has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Lorna has held various roles in different organizations. In 2017, they joined Girl Effect as a Senior Manager in the Institutional and Corporate Philanthropy division, and later took on the role of Director of Institutional Partnerships in 2019. Currently, they serve as the Senior Director of Partnerships. Prior to their time at Girl Effect, Lorna worked at the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) as a Donor Research and Resource Mobilization Officer from 2014 to 2017. Lorna also worked at the UNDP as a Programme Coordinator from 2011 to 2014. Lorna has experience in academic settings as well, having worked as an Economics Lecturer at the Institute for Higher Education (ISSAT) in 2010 and as a Business Lecturer at LCC International University from 2008 to 2010. Lorna started their career as a Volunteer at Centro del Muchacho Trabajador in 2006 and went on to hold the role of Project Assistant at the International Organization for Migration in 2004.

Lorna Qesteri, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from UCL in the years 2014 to 2020. Prior to this, they pursued their M.S degree in Development at Eastern University from 2005 to 2006. Lorna'sundergraduate studies were completed at LCC International University from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.
