Helen Gesell has extensive experience in leadership and mentoring within youth organizations. Currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at First United Methodist Church since January 2017 and as a Trainer and Mentor for the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana since 2010, Helen actively promotes youth engagement in scouting programs. Prior roles include serving as the Day Camp Program Director for Boy Scouts of America - Chicago Area Council and as a Retired Day Camp Director & Trainer for Pathway to Adventure Council. Helen's background also includes significant contributions as a Cookie Manager and Assistant Associate Manager with the Girl Scouts and as a Unit Commissioner with the Boy Scouts. In addition, Helen has volunteered as a cook for organizations, supporting events with varying numbers of attendees.
