Valerie Johnson

Valerie Johnson is a seasoned professional in volunteer management and organizational leadership with a strong focus on volunteer retention. Currently serving as the Director of Volunteer Engagement at Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri since May 2019, Valerie leads a team managing the volunteer experience across 47 counties. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Program Manager at Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City, where immediate process improvements were implemented to enhance financial literacy and work readiness programs. Valerie also held various management positions at JCPenney, including General Manager and Sephora inside JCPenney Field Leader, with responsibilities spanning retail management and customer relationship building. Earlier experience at Starbucks encompassed roles as District Manager, Territory Manager, and Marketing Manager, focusing on sales achievement and brand marketing initiatives. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rockhurst University.
