Senior Director, Membership Strategy at Girl Scouts of the USA

Christin Alvarado has a diverse range of work experience. Christin has held various roles at different organizations, starting with their current position as the Senior Director of Membership Strategy at Girl Scouts of the USA since February 2020. Prior to this, they were the Latinx Engagement Manager at Girl Scouts from February 2019 to February 2020, and before that, they worked as a Project Manager from May 2018 to February 2019.

Apart from their work at Girl Scouts, Christin has also worked as an Instruction & Leadership Coach at the International Center for Leadership in Education since October 2015. Christin has experience as a Freelance Consultant, undertaking initiatives and programs focused on serving children, with a specific emphasis on education and healthcare services for low-income and/or English learner families. Christin worked as a Freelance Consultant from July 2015 to February 2019.

Prior to their freelance work, Christin was the Program Director at Kids Vision for Life Central Texas from February 2013 to July 2015. Christin also worked as a Social Entrepreneur at Advancing America Foundation from May 2010 to May 2013. Before that, they served as the Campus & Community Programs Manager at Austin Partners in Education from August 2007 to August 2010.

Christin began their career as an America Reads Tutor & Coordinator at Rice University from August 2003 to May 2007. Overall, they have demonstrated a commitment to education, community engagement, and program management throughout their career.

Christin Alvarado attended Rice University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a focus on English. In addition to their undergraduate education, they have obtained certifications in Grant Writing and Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations.
