Diana Beinart

General Counsel at Girl Scouts of the USA

Diana Beinart joined Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) as general counsel in 2023. In this role, she oversees all legal matters for the organization, including corporate governance, intellectual property, contracts, insurance and risk management, and litigation oversight, as well as oversight of the Office of the National Board.

Prior to joining GSUSA, Diana served as the general counsel and deputy commissioner at the New York City Department of Finance, where she was responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to the department.

Before her time in New York, Diana worked at the White House as special assistant to the President, where she served as a principal in-house advisor to the Executive Office of the President on a variety of matters. Prior to that, she was a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Diana began her legal career at Williams & Connolly LLP and Caplin & Drysdale LLP advising clients on a range of issues. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Diana worked as an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP from 1993 to 1995, where she gained valuable experience in accounting and auditing before transitioning to her interest in the law.

Diana holds a law degree from the Columbia University School of Law and a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. She is a certified public accountant and holds bar admissions in New York and the District of Columbia. Diana comes from a family of Girl Scouts—her mother was a troop leader, and Diana, her sister, niece, and daughter are all Girl Scouts.
