Chief Community Officer at Girls Empowerment Network

Brittany Yelverton has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations. Brittany started their career as a Production Coordinator at Dogmatic, Inc. from August 2007 to October 2008. Following this, they joined Girls Empowerment Network (GENaustin) as a Volunteer Specialist – AmeriCorps VISTA from August 2011 to July 2012, managing over 300 volunteers and generating over 3,900 hours of service. From July 2012 to May 2014, they worked as a Community Outreach Specialist at Planned Parenthood, focusing on outreach, education, advocacy, and direct service. Brittany then returned to Girls Empowerment Network in May 2014 in the role of Community Relations and Volunteer Manager, responsible for managing volunteer programs and coaching direct reports. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Community Engagement at Girls Empowerment Network, where they continue to lead strategic planning and management of various programs. Overall, Brittany has demonstrated expertise in community engagement, volunteer management, and program development throughout their career.

Brittany Yelverton pursued their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon University between 2003 and 2007. During this time, they studied Communications, Creative Writing, and Women's/Gender Studies. Brittany further enhanced their academic qualifications by obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Media Studies from Rhodes University from 2009 to 2011.
