Alain Martinais

Alain Martinais has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Alain began their career as a Marketing Analyst at Sentein Promotion, where they conducted market studies in the furniture sector. Alain then worked as a Scientific Documentalist at the French Embassy, analyzing scientific reviews and reorganizing the lending system in the library.

Alain later joined Swan Wooster Engineering as a Senior Simulation Engineer and Transport Economist. In this role, they conducted cost-benefit analyses of bulk handling, port facilities, and transportation systems. Alain used computer simulations to establish economic configurations for enhancing existing facilities or building new ones.

Alain then moved to Canadian Pacific Railway as a Systems Analyst, before joining Alcatel SEL Division as a Software Design Manager. At Alcatel, they led a team of software and electrical engineers in designing and implementing a new train control system.

Since 1991, Alain has been associated with GIRO, where they held various positions. Alain started as a Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, responsible for ensuring the quality of software implementations. Alain then became the Group Leader and Project Manager, overseeing system implementation specialists and providing support to the marketing group for new sales in Europe and North America.

Alain eventually became the Marketing Director at GIRO, focusing on non-traditional markets and bringing the company's expertise and software to countries where advanced scheduling and management techniques could benefit authorities and operators. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Business Development at GIRO.

Alain Martinais completed their education in two stages. From 1974 to 1976, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics and Chemistry at the University of Montpellier. Following this, from 1977 to 1978, they attended the same university to study Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, where they obtained a DESSCAE degree.
