Peter Hancock

Peter Hancock is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as Team Lead at Gisborne District Council since May 2014, focusing on environmental data systems administration and management. Prior to this role, Peter was an Environmental Data Officer at Auckland Council from February 2009 to May 2014, where contributions included program delivery for freshwater quality and ecological investigations. Earlier roles include Imaging Operator and Corporate Support at Statistics New Zealand, Guide for Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company, and Ranger at the Department of Conservation. Peter holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Sciences from The University of Auckland, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from the University of Otago.
