Brad Harris has over 15 years of experience in software engineering and development. Brad began their career in 2004 as a PHP Developer at ePliant Marketing. In 2006, they joined Justice Systems as a Web Developer, where they developed a J2EE based court management system. In 2008, they moved to New Mexico Game and Fish as a Senior Application Developer III, where they helped lead development for building a new online licensing system and a new lottery system. In 2010, they rejoined Yahoo! as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2012, they moved to Pearson eCollege as a Senior Software Engineer, where they played a key role in architecting and building rich web-based internal publishing tools. In 2015, they joined Robots and Pencils as a Robot, helping build a Slack workflow system called Missions and a Slack bot hosting platform called BeepBoop. In 2018, they joined Slack as a Staff Engineer. Brad is currently a Staff Software Engineer at Gitpod since 2022.

Brad Harris attended Brigham Young University from 1999 to 2003, studying Computer Science and Information Technology. Brad then attended Utah Valley University from 2003 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems.
