Christian Weichel

Christian Weichel has worked for several companies since 2005. Christian began their career at Robert Bosch GmbH as a Software Developer in 2005. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Working Student at Vector Informatik. Christian then served as an Intern at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. from 2010 to 2015. During that same time period, they were also an Intern at Microsoft Research. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Specialist System Engineering at Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions. Since 2018, they have been employed at TypeFox as a Software Engineer. In 2020, they joined Gitpod as the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect / Head of Engineering.

Christian Weichel completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Hochschule Furtwangen in 2012. Prior to this, they attended Werner Siemens-Schule Stuttgart from 2002 to 2005, where they studied to become an IT specialist. Christian then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Computer Interaction from Lancaster University in 2015.
