Christian Fortin

Christian Fortin is an accomplished agronomist with extensive experience in intellectual property management, technology transfer, and international relations. Currently serving as an Advisor for Intellectual Property and Traditional Knowledge at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since September 2020, Christian also founded Terra Nova International, focusing on agroecology and climate change. Previous roles include Senior Advisor at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Counsellor in Agriculture at the Embassy of Canada to Indonesia, and numerous advisory positions across different organizations. With a strong academic foundation, including a Bachelor's and multiple Master's degrees related to agriculture and public administration, Christian demonstrates expertise in policy development, partnerships, and compliance promotion within the agricultural sector.
