Daniel SPOIALA

Head of the Data Economy Project in Senegal and West Africa Region

Daniel Spoiala is a data economy and digital transformation expert with over 15 years of professional experience. Currently serving as the West Africa Lead of the Data Economy Project at GIZ, they focus on developing Africa's first self-sustaining data space to enhance societal and economic growth in the region. Previously, Daniel worked with the European Commission, where they led the design of the EU Digital for Development Policy and coordinated initiatives such as the EU-AU Digital Economy Task Force. They hold a Master's degree in Public Policy and European Integration from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Universitatea "Stefan cel Mare" Suceava.
