Dennis Fischer

Dennis Fischer is an experienced professional in the field of financial services and development, currently serving as the Head of Component 'Access to Financial Services' at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since June 2014. Fischer leads initiatives aimed at enhancing the employment and income of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Nigeria by improving access to finance, business services, and entrepreneurial skills. Prior to this role, Fischer was involved in various capacities at GIZ and UNDP, focusing on microfinance institution development, financial inclusion strategies, and capacity building for stakeholders. With a solid educational background in Political Studies and Economics from reputable institutions including the University of Auckland and Ruhr Universitaet Bochum, Fischer has developed a strong expertise in financial monitoring, advisory, and organizational development within the microfinance sector.
