Head Global Partnerships at GIZ

Ene Macharm is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Head of Global Partnerships at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since October 2020. Previously, Ene held several key positions within GIZ, including Africa Partnerships Energy Coordinator and Head of Component for Solar Electrification, Social Infrastructure, and Energising Development projects. Responsibilities include financial and personnel management, technical advice on solar PV and battery recycling, and policy recommendation development. Prior experience includes leading a unit focused on energy efficiency in buildings and industries within the GIZ Nigerian Energy Support Programme, where Ene provided policy advice, developed financing schemes, and established a one-stop-shop investment platform. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Renewables from Berlin University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor’s Degree in Building from University of Jos.
