Gisele Marchand

Gisele Marchand (1958) was elected chairman of the board in 2018, and has been a board member of Gjensidige since 2010. She chairs the remuneration committee and is a member of the risk committee.

Marchand has a master's degree in economics from the Copenhagen Business School.

Marchand is a board member and chairman of the audit committee in Norgesgruppen ASA, and chairman of the board in Norgesgruppen Finans Holding AS. She is also a board member of Selvaag Bolig ASA, where she is a member of the remuneration committee. She is a board member of Eiendomsspar AS, Victoria Eiendom AS, Scatec Solar ASA and chairman of the board of Boligbygg Oslo KF. She is a member of the nomination committee of Entra Eiendom AS. She also has previous experience from a number of boards, including Norske Skog ASA and Oslo Børs AS.

Marchand has previously been CEO of Advokatfirmaet Haavind AS, Eksportfinans ASA, Statens pensjonskasse and Bates Group, as well as Executive Vice President of Den norske Bank with responsibility for retail and corporate customers in Norway.

Marchand has significant management experience in the financial sector, and also has good insurance expertise through his board position in Gjensidige Forsikring for several years.

Gisele Marchand is independent in relation to senior executives, significant business associates and the main shareholder.
