Torstein Aas-Hansen has a diverse work history spanning various industries. Torstein began their career in 2000 as an X-ray operator at Alcoa Automotive Casting. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as a Registreringsmedarbeider at Zett.no. In 2005, they transitioned to part-time work as a Subway Train Driver at Oslo T-banedrift.

Since 2007, Torstein has been primarily focused on the field of digital design and development. Torstein started as a Nettredaktør at gjensidige.no and later became a Business Developer for the same company. From 2011 to 2013, they took on the role of Fagansvarlig, innhold og interaksjon, where they had overall responsibility for content and interaction in digital channels in the Nordic countries.

Torstein then worked as a Redaktør og avdelingsleder, Eksterne portaler, overseeing the continuous improvement of all external portals at Gjensidige. Torstein further advanced in their career by becoming a Digitalredaktør og avdelingsleder and subsequently a Digital Sjefredaktør / Digital Editor in Chief. In this role, they had overarching editorial and conceptual responsibility for the company's digital channels in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

In 2023, Torstein assumed the position of Head of digital development in Sweden at Gjensidige. Torstein later became the Content design discipline lead and eventually the (acting) Head of content design, leading a specialized department of content designers in Norway and Denmark.

Torstein Aas-Hansen has a degree in Merkekommunikatør, with a specialization in Reklame og merkekommunikasjon, from Norges Kreative Fagskole, which they completed between 2004 and 2006. In 2011, they studied Interaksjonsdesign og brukervennlighet at IGM/Høgskolen i Gjøvik for a year. Torstein also attended Handelshøyskolen BI in 2011 to focus on Leadership and Communication. In 2007, they briefly studied Language/Text at the University of Oslo. Additionally, Torstein holds certifications as a Scrum Product Owner and ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance.
