Christian Klein has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and project management. Christian began their career as a Student Engineer at Cork County Council in 2001, followed by a short role as a Graduate Engineer. In 2002, they joined Stadtentwässerung Mannheim as a Projektleiter. In 2007, they moved to Pöyry Environment GmbH as a Project Manager and remained there until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Project Manager at Lahmeyer GKW Consult GmbH. Christian then joined GKW Consult GmbH in 2015 and held various positions, including Project Manager, Project Director, Deputy Head of Wastewater Department, and currently as the Head of Department - Water Supply.
Christian Klein completed their education in two different institutions. From 1996 to 2001, they attended Hochschule Darmstadt and obtained a Diplom degree in Civil Engineering. Later, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued their studies at Hochschule Mittelhessen and received another Diplom degree, this time in Business & Engineering. In addition to their academic qualifications, Klein also obtained two additional certifications. In 2014, they became a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute. Furthermore, in June 2020, they completed a certification course on "The Zero-Carbon Transition Strategy" offered by ENGIE.
