Michael Bowman-Zamora

Senior Director, People, Talent & Culture at GLAAD

Michael Bowman-Zamora is the Senior Director of People, Talent & Culture at GLAAD. Michael has a long history of working in Human Resources and organizational development. Prior to joining GLAAD, Michael was the Director of People Operations at Small Girls PR. In this role, Michael was responsible for developing and administering company guidelines, procedures, and handbooks. Michael also developed and led the leadership programs and summer training processes for all school and support staff.

At GLAAD, Michael has continued their work in developing and administering company policies and procedures. In addition, Michael has developed and implemented a new compensation structure and has transitioned the company into New York Paid Family Leave. Michael has also been instrumental in auditing and revising health policies annually based on company size and current public policies & requirements.

In recognition of the diverse staff that makes up GLAAD, Michael has authored novel guidelines supporting all LGBTQ+ staff. These guidelines have lead to the creation and initiation of inclusion and diversity policies at GLAAD. Under Michael’s leadership, the People, Talent & Culture team has become a model of excellence in the industry.

Michael Bowman-Zamora has a vocal performance degree from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Western Governors University.

Michael Bowman-Zamora reports to Sarah Kate Ellis, President & CEO. A direct report to Michael Bowman-Zamora is and Anais Figueroa - People, Talent & Culture Associate. They work with Jesse Buggs - Director, IT, Abdool Corlette - Creative Director, and Arthur Aung - Senior Staff Accountant.
